Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction transmission belt capable of stabilizing a friction state at a friction transmission surface and improving anti-sound production [in particular anti-sound production at the time of covering water].SOLUTION: This invention relates to a friction transmission belt 1 having a friction transmission surface in which at least a part of it can be contacted with a pulley and containing a compression layer 2 formed by rubber composition, the friction transmission surface is covered by a surface layer 5 containing hydrophilic resin and binder resin. Binder particles are particles that are melted or softened at vulcanization temperature of the belt. The hydrophilic resin may contain polyvinyl alcohol-based resin. The binder resin may be polyolefin [polypropylene-based resin, in particular]. The friction transmission belt 1 further comprises a core body 3 and an elongation layer 4 forming a belt back surface, one surface of the elongation layer 4 is formed with a compression layer 2 and the core body 3 may be buried along a belt longitudinal direction between the elongation layer 4 and the compression layer 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
