Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the amount of deformation of a vehicle body when the front end part of an outer wall part of the vehicle body is put into contact with the other vehicle, the side wall or the other facilities of a road.
SOLUTION: Between a pair of first pillars 6, 6 of both sides of the front part of a vehicle body 1 are joined by a front cross member 16 disposed near the floor of a vehicle and a first pillar 6 is joined to a second pillar 7 of the side part of the vehicle body in the back of the first pillar 6 by an impact bar (reinforcing member) 12 disposed above the floor of the vehicle. When the front cross member 16 receives an impact load, the load is transmitted to the first pillar 6 and is surely transmitted to the second pillar 7 via the reinforcing member 12 disposed between the first pillar 6 and the second pillar 7 and a vehicle floor panel 15.
