Title:
FRONT WHEEL SUSPENSION DEVICE FOR SCOOTER TYPE VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02175483
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To disperse the impact applied onto front wheels in a wide range for an erected pipe by connecting the upper and lower arms in a swingable way in the vertical direction onto the right and left erected pipes in pairs and installing a buffer device between the lower arm and a car body frame.

CONSTITUTION: A chassis frame 1 is equipped with the right and left erected pipes 10 in pair in front of a leg placing plate 17, and a head pipe 12 is connected by a stay 11 suspended from the upper part, and a steering shaft 14 steered by a bar handle 15 is supported. An upper arm 14 and a lower arm 21 are extended in swingable ways from the both erected pipes 10, and a steering arm 30 is connected in turnable ways, and connected with the steering shaft 14 through a transmission mechanism 40, and a hydraulic buffer device 38 is installed between the lower frame 21 and the erected pipe (frame) 10. Therefore, when an impact is applied onto front wheels 31 from a road surface, the upper arm 24 and the lower arm 21 swing vertically and the shock is absorbed by the shock absorber 38. Thus, the impact can be transmitted in dispersion onto the right and left erected pipes, and the stress concentration onto a specific part of the chassis frame can be obviated.
