PURPOSE: To remarkably simplify a production process for a fry food and improve the production efficiency thereof, by coating a frying material with a sheetlike material prepared by laminating a batter layer obtained by kneading wheat flour, starch, etc., with water and bread crumb layer one after another and frying the resultant material in oil.
CONSTITUTION: Wheat flour, starch, salt, pepper, etc., are initially kneaded with normally water and applied to a readily peelable thin film 1, e.g. cellophane, etc., to form a battery coating layer 2. Sliced bread or bread crumb is laminated on the resultant layer 2 to form a bread or bread crumb layer 3 and afford a manufactured sheetlike material 4. A frying material 6, e.g. lobster, etc., is subsequently coated with the resultant material 4 and fried in oil.
