To provide a fuel cell device capable of conducting maintenance such as replacement of components of a water supply means without stopping operation of a fuel cell.
The fuel cell device is equipped with the fuel cell 1, a reformer 4 forming reformed gas supplied to the fuel cell 1 with gas-to-be-reformed supplied from a gas-to-be-reformed supply means 2 and oxygen-containing gas supplied from an oxygen-containing gas supply means 3 or water supplied from a water supply means X, and a control part 14 which conducts steam reforming with gas-to-be-reformed and water in steady operation and conducts partial oxidation reforming with gas-to-be-reformed and oxygen-containing gas while maintenance of the water supply means X is conducted. Therefore, maintenance such as replacement of components of the water supply means X can be conducted without stopping operation of the fuel cell 1.
