Abstract:

To improve ion conductivity at an electrode catalyst of a fuel cell and improve the function of the electrode catalyst of the fuel cell.

The fuel cell is provided with an electrolyte, a cathode arranged on one side of the electrolyte, and an anode arranged on the other face side of the cathode of the electrolyte. The cathode is provided with a cathode catalyst having a catalyst action to a reaction in the cathode and a cathode protection film which permeates an oxidant to be supplied to the cathode and surrounds the cathode catalyst. Or, the anode is provided with an anode catalyst having a catalyst action to the reaction in the anode and an anode protection film which permeates a fuel to be supplied to the anode and surrounds the anode catalyst.
