To provide a new cell structure for a fuel cell, in which the basic structure of the fuel battery cell is fundamentally reexamined and thinning is attained.
If both the gas passage width and the spacing between the passages (width of the projection part of a separator) are made small, with respect to supply of gas, if the projection part is sufficiently narrow, since a gas flows around and is fully supplied, from the gas passage to the surface of the electrode that faces the projection part, therefore, even if there is no current collector, a smooth supply of gas can be made. Furthermore, with respect to extraction of electricity, if the width of the gas passage is sufficiently narrow, the electricity generated on the electrode surface of the portion of the gas passage can be extracted efficiently from the adjoining projection part.
