Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell separator including a carbon film excellent in adhesion and conductivity, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a fuel cell separator comprises the steps of: forming a relaxation layer 29 on at least one surface of a base material 25 by electrolytic deposition using an aqueous solution including an organic additive; heating the base material 25 having the formed relaxation layer 29 in a hydrogen atmosphere; and covering the surface of the relaxation layer 29 with a carbon film 30 by electrolytic deposition. In the step of forming the relaxation layer 29, the organic additive has one or more kinds of basic structures selected from a group of carboxylate salt, sulfonic acid salt, sulfate ester salt, amine salt, quarternary ammonium salt and a betaine type compound, and the relaxation layer 29 having a thickness of 0.1 μm or more and 5 μm or less is formed using an organic compound having a hydrocarbon molecule chain connected with a single chain, having carbon atoms of 25 or less and having an added amount of 0.1-15 g/L. In the step of covering the surface of the relaxation layer with the carbon film 30, the surface of the relaxation layer is covered with the carbon film 30 having a thickness of 0.1 μm or more and 10 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
