Abstract:

To obtain improvement in power generating performance by making a distribution of temperature uniform over the whole area of a power generating surface in a simple composition.

A fuel cell 10 includes an electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 12, a first metal separator 14, and a second metal separator 16. The first metal separator 14 composing one fuel cell 10 and the second metal separator 16 composing the other fuel cell 10 are adjacent to each other and have a cooling medium flowing path 38 formed in between. The second metal separator 16 has a plurality of entrance connecting paths 52a1, 52a2 for communicating a communication hole 22a for supplying cooling medium with the cooling medium flowing path 38 formed. In addition, the width of the path of the entrance connecting path 52a1 is set to be greater than the path width of the entrance connecting path 52a2.
