Title:
FUEL CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3426701
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent a drop in cooling effect, maintain uniform temperature distribution within a cell plane, prevent or otherwise the deterioration of a cell voltage characteristic by keeping as much uniformity as possible for the flowrate of cooling water flowing in a cooling tube at the upper and lower sides of a cell stack structure.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical branch pipe 30 for applying resistance to cooling water and restraining a flow thereof is inserted in a7 drainage manifold 15, and fixed to the inner wall thereof via a bolt 3a or the like. According to this construction, a pressure loss becomes larger at a lower position in the feedwater side manifold, due to flow resistance with the branch pipe 30 in the drainage manifold 15. As a result, the pressure loss offsets an effect due to weight acting to cause a flow of as much cooling water as possible at a lower position. Thus, the flowrate of the cooling water entering a cooling pipe is kept uniform at the upper and lower sides of a cell stack structure.
