To provide fuel distribution during non-load running or a light engine load.
A fuel controller supplies fuel to at least two combustion chambers of an engine. The fuel controller receives a primary fuel quantity signal indicating a primary prescribed fuel quantity to be supplied to each combustion chamber of the engine during a combustion cycle. The fuel controller transmits at least one secondary fuel quantity signal as a function of the primary fuel quantity signal, and transmits at least one tertiary fuel quantity signal as the function of the primary fuel quantity signal. The secondary and the tertiary fuel quantity signals indicate secondary and tertiary prescribed fuel quantity to be supplied during the combustion cycle respectively. The sum of fuel quantity corresponding to the secondary fuel quantity signal transmitted during the combustion cycle is smaller than the primary prescribed fuel quantity.
