Abstract:

To provide a fuel injection control apparatus which accurately adjusts an injection interval in performing a multistage injection.

The apparatus is applied to an engine equipped with a fuel supply system supplying fuel in a pressurized state to a fuel injection valve, and performs fuel injection from the injection valve in one combustion cycle through a multistage injection including a pre-injection and a main injection that are performed at an interval. A deviation ΔPR between a required value (one-dot chain line) and an actual value (solid line) regarding the end timing of the pre-injection is calculated based on the manner of fluctuation of fuel pressure in the fuel injection valve, that is detected by a pressure sensor. Target main injection timing Tsm and a target pre-interval Tip are individually set based on the operation state of the engine. Control target values regarding a period of performing the pre-injection are set based on the deviation ΔPR, the target main injection timing Tsm and the target pre-interval Tip.
