To provide a fuel injection control device for a diesel engine capable of controlling fuel injection timing in accordance with used fuel without adding sensors to measure fuel properties of the used fuel.
During deceleration operation of the diesel engine 2 in which fuel injection amount becomes zero, normal fuel misfire limit timing is set to be fuel injection timing a1 on the maximum timing delay side, and while fuel injection timing is changed sequentially from the fuel injection timing a1 to a timing advance side by predetermined amount X, fixed amount of fuel is injected from an injector of a specific cylinder. Generation torque generated in the diesel engine 2 by the fuel injection is estimated by revolution fluctuation of the diesel engine 2. Fuel injection timing when the estimated torque reaches a torque determination value first is specified as misfire limit timing corresponding to used fuel, and based on the deviation amount between the misfire limit timing and the normal fuel misfire limit timing, a map for injection timing calculation is corrected. As a result, without using a cylinder pressure sensor or the like, fuel injection timing can be optimally controlled.
