Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device comprising a number of injection orifices and a fuel purge device.
SOLUTION: This fuel injection device includes purge means 216 for purging a main nozzle fuel circuit 102 and purge air cooling means 340 for supplying cooled part 342 of purge air 227 to the main nozzle fuel circuit during purging. The cooled part is cooled by the fuel flowing through a pilot nozzle fuel circuit 288. The purge air cooling means can include a purge air cooling passage 344 with thermal conduction relation with the pilot nozzle fuel circuit 288, the passage being operable so as to make flow of the part cooled through the pilot nozzle fuel circuit 288 during purging into the main nozzle fuel circuit. The purge air cooling passage can be of thermal conduction relation with at least one annular pilot leg part 294 of the pilot nozzle fuel circuit.
