Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce manhours of disassembling and fixing of a fuel injection pump by pressing a lock piece by means of a head of a tappet guide pin, and elastically deforming the lock piece in such a manner that a rising-up angle thereof becomes small.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection pump comprises a lock piece 15 disposed around a head 24 of a tappet guide pin 21; a lock plate 11 to be engaged with a cutout portion 23 formed on the head 24 of the tappet guide pin 21 so as to lock the tappet guide pin 21 in a non-rotatable manner; and a guide pin fixing portion 6 provided in a pump housing 2 and engaged with the head 24 of the tappet guide pin 21 with the cutout portion 23 engaged with the engaging portion of the lock plate 11, so as to prevent slip-off of the tappet guide pin 21. The lock piece 15 is elastically deformed in such a manner that a rising-up angle thereof becomes small under pressure of the head 24 of the tappet guide pin 21. Consequently, it is possible to enhance the durability of the lock plate 11 since the lock piece 15 cannot effect an unnecessary bending stress with respect to bending.
