Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection pump for preventing generation of hammering sound by a cam shaft and reducing wear of members.
SOLUTION: A helical gear 23 is fitted at an end part of the cam shaft 20 and is rotated with the cam shaft 20. The cam shaft 20 is energized in the direction of the arrow B by driving force that the helical gear 23 receives from a crankshaft of an engine. A disc part 22 is formed integrally with the cam shaft 20 in front of the direction in which the helical gear 23 energizes the cam shaft 20 for a cam 21 and is locked by a washer 25. The disc part 22 is formed coaxially with a journalled part 20a of the cam shaft 20 journalled by a journal 15 and has a larger diameter than that of the cam 21. Sliding area of the disc part 22 and the washer 25 is large and the area of the sliding surface in which the disc part 22 and the washer 25 slide is the same.
