To provide a protective device for a fuel injection valve in which when an abnormal current flows through the valve, a driving current supplied to the valve is automatically interrupted, and when anything is wrong with the valve, LPG fuel fed to the valve is automatically cut off.
A fusible cutout 8 is placed at a halfway point in a driving-current supply line 7 of the fuel injection valve 2. An anomaly diagnostic-program 41 for detecting an anomalous condition of the valve 2 is incorporated in an electronic control unit 4. The detection is made by monitoring check signals CHK of the driving current which is returned from a fuel-injection valve-driving circuit 3. When a driving current exceeding a prescribed rate flows, the fusible cutout 8 is fused. When anomalous condition is detected in the valve 2 by the diagnostic program 41, a fuel-cut valve 9, which is connected to an LPG supply line jointing an LPG bomb 5 to a vaporizer 6, is cut out to stop the fuel supply.
