This is a fuel pole for a liquid fuel direct supply fuel cell in which a fuel pole and an air pole are provided opposed to each other through an electrolyte made of a proton-conductive solid polymer membrane and which is generated by supplying liquid fuel to the above fuel pole and supplying oxidation gas to the air pole. The above fuel pole contains platinum and ruthenium as a catalyst content and contains nickel as a catalyst-particle growth inhibiting content. A colloid made of platinum compound, a ruthenium compound and a nickel compound is carried by a carbon powder and reduced by heat treatment and the fuel pole is made.
