Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge fuel properties of the heavy fuel and the mixed fuel of poor volatility as the fuel to be fed to an internal combustion engine with excellent accuracy.
SOLUTION: When the cooling water temperature of an internal combustion engine exceeds 0°C (Step S102), and the elapsed time after the engine is started is between TS and TE (Step S103-Step S104), the engine speed Ne after it is not more than the preset engine speed NO in the case of the regular fuel of excellent volatility is integrated (Step S108). A judgment is made whether or not the deviation between the integrated value NT of the engine speed and the integrated value NOT of the preset engine speed (NOT-NT) is larger than the prescribed value of judgment VTH (Step S110). It can be understood whether the fuel fed to the internal combustion engine is as volatile as the regular fuel, and the fuel properties can be judged with excellent accuracy.
