Abstract:
To eliminate bubbles due to the cavitation of fuel, generated in a relief flow path.SOLUTION: A fuel pump 1 includes: a plunger 3b slidably held in a cylindrical body 2; a pressurizing chamber R3 which is volume-reduced in the pressuring stroke of the plunger 3b and in which fuel is pressurized; a fuel discharge flow path R2 connected to the pressurizing chamber R3; and a relief flow path R5 connected to the fuel discharge flow path R2. The relief flow path R5 has a chamber R5b of which the flow path diameter is larger than that of the other region. A first relief valve 6 arranged upstream of the chamber R5b and a second relief valve 7 arranged downstream of the chamber R5b and adapted to be opened later than the first relief valve 6 are provided in the flow path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
