PURPOSE: To restrain the temperature of exhaust gas from rising, in an engine provided with a supercharger and an intercooler, by compensating the supply amount of fuel in accordance with the temperature of intake-air so that the supply amount of fuel is increased when the temperature of intake-air is relatively high, to control such that the air-fuel ratio of the engine becomes rich.
CONSTITUTION: Upon operation of an engine, in a control circuit 50, a basic fuel injection amount τP is at first computed in accordance with outputs from an airflow sensor 35 and a rotational speed sensor 32. Then an intake-air temperature I downstream of the airflow sensor 35, and an intake-air temperature II downstream of an intercooler 20 which are detected, respectively by intake-air temperature sensors 33, 34, are read by the control circuit 50. In accordance with the intake-air temperature I , a compensating coefficient (f) which increases gradually in a temperature range of the intake- air I lower than 20°. C but decreases in a temperature range of the intake-air I higher than 20°. C, is computed. Further, in accordance with the intake-air temperature IIanother compensating coefficient F which has variation rates different from each other between two ranges of 60W120°. C and higher than 120°C C, is computed. Then, the basic fuel injection time is compensated in accordance with the compensating coefficients (f), F and the other compensating coefficients.
