Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine that can restraint pulsation of fuel pressure efficiently on a low-pressure side during an idle operation and at the time of return from a fuel-cut condition.SOLUTION: A fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine includes: a feed pump 22 that feeds fuel to an engine 1 possessing a low-pressure fuel injection mechanism 29 and a high-pressure fuel injection mechanism 39; and a high-pressure fuel pump 31 that is mechanically driven by the engine 1 and pressurizes fuel fed from the feed pump 22 to feed it to the high-pressure fuel injection mechanism 39. A pulsation damper 51 that can damp at least pulsation of fuel pressure due to operation of the high-pressure fuel pump 31 is provided at a passage section 25a on a side of the high-pressure pump 31 in a low-pressure fuel passage 25c between the high-pressure fuel pump 31 and the low-pressure fuel injection mechanism 29. In addition, a throttle element 52 that reduces a passage sectional area partially is provided at a passage section 25c1 on a side closer to the low-pressure fuel injection mechanism 29 than the pulsation damper 51 in the low-pressure fuel passage 25c.
