A plurality of fuel pumps 21 and 22 are connected in parallel to a fuel tank 17, carburetors 11 to 14 for the respective cylinders 1 to 4 are dispersedly connected to the fuel pumps 21 and 22, and the operation of the fuel pumps 21 and 22 is controlled by a controller 50 to prevent synchronous operation of the fuel pumps 21 and 22. Even under a parallel operation of the plurality of fuel pumps 21 and 22, no voltage drop occurs to maintain efficient pump performance. A fuel discharge variation of the fuel tank 17 can be reduced to dispense with increase of a diameter and wall thickness of fuel piping to reduce the cost of piping parts.
