Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which, in the case where a fuel amount is small, air entrainment occurs in a fuel sucked by a fuel pump due to a structure of a fuel pump suction port, the necessary fuel cannot be supplied and, in the worst case, an engine stall occurs.SOLUTION: A fuel supply system includes: a fuel tank 11 for storing a fuel supplied to a fuel injection valve 22 of an internal combustion engine; a fuel level sensor 14 for detecting a fuel amount in the fuel tank; a fuel pump 12 for delivering the fuel in the fuel tank to the fuel injection valve; and fuel pump motor control means 181 for controlling a current value supplied to a motor of the fuel pump and for adjusting the pressure of the fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve 22. The fuel pump motor control means 181, in the case where the detection value of the fuel level sensor 14 is below a predetermined value, makes a control current value supplied to the motor of the fuel pump 12 larger than that in the case where the detection value of the fuel level sensor 14 is equal to or larger than the predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
