The fuel tank includes a cavity (2) having a reinforcement device (5, 45) arranged in the cavity to provide support. The reinforcement device (5, 45) is configured to absorb both compressive forces and tensile forces to provide a fuel tank that has a high degree of stability and can be manufactured cost-effectively.
