The functional material comprises one or more kinds of functional material components (A) selected from compounds containing a benzothiazyl group, a benzophenone group, a benzotriazole group or a diphenyl (meth)acrylate group, a curable resin component (B) or a thermoplastic resin component (C) or a combined component of the curable resin component (B) and the polyester resin component (C). The method for forming a functional coating film comprises coating a material to be coated with the functional material to form a functional coating film.
