Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to be free from any requirements for construction accuracy and prevent molten steel from leaking by way of a furnace bottom electrode with regards to furnace bottom electrode structure of an electric melting furnace (DC arc furnace) which is used when melting a molten item, such as burnt residue (incinerated ashes) or soot (fly ash) generated by the incineration of domestic wastes or industrial wastes.
CONSTITUTION: A furnace bottom electrode 1 consists of an upper layer refractory material 2, a conducting material 3, a lower layer refractory material 4 and a collector plate 5. A plurality of conducting materials 3, which are especially provided with bottom pieces 6 and vertical pieces 7 where each bottom piece forms a series of bottoms, are incorporated into the upper layer refractory material 2.
