Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens driving device of the optical pickup device which has the detection means that always and accurately detects the objective lens being used.
SOLUTION: An objective lens driving device 1 has a lens holder 102 which holds objective lenses 101 and 103, a holder supporting unit 105 which supports the holder 102 and a detection mechanism 20 that detects which objective lens is located at an operating position. The unit 105 is fixed to the mounting frame of the optical pickup device main body side. The mechanism 20 is provided with an optical reflection surface 21 formed on the holder 102 in order to reflect a portion of the laser beams while the lens 101 is being used and a light receiving element 22 which is mounted on the unit 105 to receive the light beams reflected by the surface 21. Even through the mounting position or the angle of the unit 105 with respect to a frame are adjusted, an accurate detection operation is always conducted because the relative position relationship between the surface 21 and the element 22 of the mechanism 20 does not vary.
