Abstract:
To provide a furniture overturn prevention device that has a simple structure, easy installation, and excellent versatility/practicality.SOLUTION: The overturn prevention device 6 includes: a base plate 7 that is situated in the lower part of a cabinet 1; and a standing piece 8 that is fastened with screws 10 to a lower frame 9 of a partition 5 for example. The base plate 7 is merely placed on a floor, with an adhesive sheet 14 arranged on the top face. On the base 4 of the cabinet 1, there is installed a backing plate 24 that is superimposed on the adhesive sheet 14. In the occurrence of an earthquake, when the cabinet 1 shakes in front and in the rear, the base plate 7 is deformed, with the adhesive sheet 14 partially separated from the base 4, but the joint state itself is maintained. As a result, kinetic energy of the cabinet is absorbed to suppress moment that works on the fastening part of the standing piece 8. The base plate 7 is prevented from sticking out in front of the cabinet 1, so that there is no occurrence of stumbling of a person or deterioration of a beautiful site.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
