To provide a furniture system with a modular lighting installation which is satisfactory in view of beauty and can be always (therefore, later) fitted to the size of furniture.
This furniture has a plurality of furniture compartments divided from each other, and at least one lighting member 21 can be installed at need in each furniture compartment. Rod members 17.1 and 17.8 having a designated length are provided to be fitted within the furniture for power feed, and holders are provided to respectively hold the rod members completely within the furniture compartment. Connecting members 19.1 to 19.4 electrically connect the rod members of various furniture compartments to each other. The connecting members are formed as a flexible conductor in some area to make 1:n-branches (n=2, 3, etc.). In the holders, the rod members are fixed substantially at both ends, and also disposed and formed so that the connecting members can be always connected to the end parts of the rod members at need.
