Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the surface of an electrode and decrease the electric resistance by coating an electrode agent on one face of a corrugated plate- shaped metal current collector and bringing the electrode agent into contact with the electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte plate 1 is pinched by a cathode 2 and an anode 3 from both sides, oxidizing gas is fed to the cathode 2 side, and fuel gas is fed to the anode 3 side. A corrugated plate-shaped current collector 8 forming a gas passage is inserted between the flat plate-shaped cathode 2 and a separator 7, a porous electrode agent layer 9 coated with a cathode agent is provided on the face of the cathode 2 side. Corrugated projections of the electrode agent layer 9 are brought into contact with the cathode 2 to form contact points A. The cathode 2 is wetted by the fused carbonate in the electrolyte plate 1, the electrode agent layer 9 is also wetted by fused carbonate through the contact points A, and the points A become effective reaction sections. As a result, the surface area of the cathode 2 is increased, and the electric resistance is decreased.
