To improve the workability of assembling and stability of the structure of a gabion formed by connecting the bottom part tip parts of two L-shaped wire gauze panels.
A first stage gabion 1 has two oppositely disposed wire gauze panels 4, mutual stacked parts 10 of the bottom-part tip parts 3a are connected by a bottom- part connecting fitting 20 to be formed into the U-shaped gabion 1. The bottom-part connecting fitting 20 has a flat base part 21 to be simply disposed on the ground, which improves the workability of the assembling of the first stage gabion 1. A horizontal member 7 formed by integrally fixing a connecting plate 26 to a horizontal member body 25, which has lock parts 25a in its both ends, is erected between the upper edge parts 2a of the gabion 1 in each stage. In the gabions 1 in a second stage or more, the upper edge 2a and the connecting plate 26 of the horizontal member 7 of the lower stage side are connected by a diagonal member 9 to connect the upper/lower gabions 1. When occurring an abrupt ground deformation, the horizontal member 7 and the diagonal member 9 prevent the floating of the upper stage side gabion 1, however, the connecting plate 26 is connected to the horizontal member body 25 to improve the stability of the gabion structure.
