This game system 1 includes a database 3 for storing advertisement information related to an advertisement object, a management server 2 connected to the database 3, and a portable cellular phone 8 connected to the management server 2 through the Internet 4. In the system 1, the game is caused to progress according to the operation of the portable cellular telephone 8, and the information on an item in the game is transmitted to the portable cellular phone 8 according to the progress of the game to be displayed on a screen of the portable cellular phone 8 by the management server 2. The game is caused to progress using the advertisement object indicated by the advertisement information stored in the database 3 as an item in the game by the management server 2, whereby the user of the portable cellular phone 8 is caused to recognize the advertisement object.
