To provide a garbage container for home use which is sanitary and simple-structured and is further, less costly compared to the case when a conventional garbage container is used.

This garbage container is formed of a lower half part 8 and an upper half part 20 of the container fitted together with a lid 35 in place, and is housed in a container mounting table 38. When the container is fully filled with garbage, it is transferred to a crushing/drying box and a crushing motor is actuated. Next, the crushing/drying box is set on its side and a rotary motor is started. At the same time, a heater is turned ON. The garbage is stirred by a stirring bladelike projecting part 19 and the moisture is vaporized and vented from a first discharge hole 13, passing through a deodorizing bag insertion box 97 and then is discharged. In this case, the first discharge hole 13 is moved downward by rotation but the moisture is prevented from flowing out by means of a packing 21. When the vaporized content is completely discharged, particles in the container remain as a scant amount of powder.
