To dry garbage discharged in large quantities more rapidly with higher purity by simpler equipment while reducing the consumption of onerous energy to the upmost.
A garbage continuous dryer consists of a drying box which has a garbage charging port and an exhaust port disposed at the upper part thereof and has a dried refuse discharge port and an air blow port disposed at the lower part thereof and has a plurality of window frames to which steam permeable films are applied under tension arranged on the outer surface thereof and houses garbage developed over a plurality of stages, a hot air generator and a blower for passing the air of the drying box through the hot air generator from the exhaust port. The hot air generator is a solar heat utilizing hot air generator which has a light absorbing chamber of which the upper surface is hermetically sealed with a transparent plate and the undersurface is hermetically sealed with a black heat receiver, and a hot air chamber being in contact with a lower open air passage through a steam permeable film and, preferably, a pressure dehydrator for pressing garbage having a size of 3 cm or less or garbage cut into pieces with a size of 3 cm or less by a press roll to dehydrate the same is disposed in front of the garbage charging port.
