Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus having a function of imaging surface phase difference AF capable of detecting dust by monitoring changes in sensor outputs while defocusing after narrowing down the lens.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes segment metering means, and has the functions including: to image surface phase difference AF; to change defocus amount by driving a lens group by a specific amount; and to determine existence of dust on the basis of the amount of changes in the defocus amount represented by the a signal output from an image pick-up device. After setting AF image accumulation conditions for each AF area based on measurement result by the segment metering means, dust is detected on the basis of the set accumulation condition for each area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
