Water content of garbage G is discharged to an outer container 12 through small holes 11c formed in an inner container 11 and during rotation of the inner container 11, dewatering is promoted by the dropping energy of the garbage G. A portion of water content remaining in the garbage dewatered in such a manner is evaporated by heating with an inner heater 14 and condensed after being sent to a condensing part 20 by a fan 43 and discharged to a water discharge part 30 and the drying is promoted in the condensing part 20 by blowing dry air to the garbage G through a nozzle 18b. Moreover, the garbage G is separated when it is lifted up and dropped owing to the rotation of the inner container 11, so that the garbage can efficiently be brought into contact with the dry gas from the nozzle 18b and thus be dried quickly.
