To solve the problems that a heating-drying type garbage drying machine is low in thermal efficiency, requires a long drying time and does not permit continuous charge of garbage.
The machine has a crushing means 5 arranged within or below a storage portion 4 storing garbage 3, a force-feeding means 7 composed of two or more nearly cylindrical rollers 6 arranged in parallel and rotating, a heating means 8 heating the surface of the rollers 6, a temperature-detecting means 9 disposed in the vicinity of the rollers 6 and a control means 10 operating the crushing means 5 when the detecting means 9 detects a specified temperature. Thus, the charged garbage 3 is prevented from passing through the feeding means 7 before being sufficiently dried. Since the garbage 3 is heated in the form of a rolled thin plate, the transfer of heat to the inside of the garbage 3 is enhanced so that the garbage 3 can be heated instantaneously. Because the garbage 3 is fed by the force-feeding means 7 while being heated the feeding means 7, the garbage is heated and dried continuously.
