PURPOSE: To enable an efficient drying of garbage to be attained irrespective of the kind of shape of the garbage by a method wherein a container having many holes arranged at an upper part of a heating chamber is provided with a crushing means for crushing garbage and then garbage is crushed in advance before heating it and the garbage is formed into power to expand its surface area.
CONSTITUTION: At first, before starting a heating operation, a lid 2 is opened and garbage 6 is fed into a container 5 provided with fine holes therein. The garbage is crushed into some fine pieces by a motor 3 and blades 4. The crushed pieces are dropped onto a receiving pan 7. The receiving pan 7 fixed to a base plate 14A having a magnet 14 is rotated in its non-contacted state by driving a driving means 16 connected to a driving base plate 15A having a magnet 15 disposed therein. Micro-wave generated by a magnetron 10 is converged into a heating chamber 1 through a wave guide 11 and then the garbage pieces are heated without any disturbance. In this way, if the garbage is crushed into some fine pieces by the motor 3 or blades 4 acting as crushing means before starting the heating operation, the garbage pieces can be dried at a substantial constant time irrespective of the kind or shape of the garbage. Garbage having adhering layer at its surface or dust of large block is crushed into powder form, then the entire surface area of garbage is increased and its drying time is also shortened.
