To provide a garbage treatment device which prevents adhesion of pulverized garbage to an inner wall of a water removing screen, and efficiently transports the pulverized garbage by a carrying screw.
In a garbage treatment device an inlet 31 is formed at a lower end of a cylindrical water-removing screen 3 in which a plurality of water- removing holes 32 are formed, and the pulverized garbage introduced in the water-removing screen 3 from the inlet 31 is transported upward by a carrying screw 5 while removing the water contained therein, and discharged from a discharge port 33. An insert plate 53 is continuously provided over the specified height or the whole range from a lower end of a screw part 52 of the transport screw 5, a tip edge of the insert plate 53 is slightly projected from the tip edge of the screw part 52 toward the inner wall of the water-removing screen 3 and internally brought into contact with the water-removing screen 3, and the insert plate 3 is formed of a material more excellent in wear resistance than the material of the screw part. The tip edge of the insert plate 53 is formed uneven.
