To provide a garment dryer and a washing and drying machine, capable of drying with fewer wrinkles by low power consumption.
The garment dryer includes: a first air path 9 provided with a first outlet 8 which is opened at the rear part of a drum 1 housing garment; and a second air path 11 provided with a second outlet 10 which is opened at the front part of the drum 1 and has an air passing cross sectional area smaller than that of the first outlet 8. The first air path 9 and the second air path 11 are selectively switched in the middle of a drying process on the basis of temperature detection parts 71 and 72 for detecting the temperature of drying air before and after being in contact with the garment. When the first air path 9 is selected, the drying air of an air volume larger than that when the second air path 11 is selected is blown off from the first outlet 8, and when the second air path 11 is selected, the drying air of a pressure and a speed higher than that when the first air path 9 is selected is blown off from the second outlet 10.
