PURPOSE: To enable to analyze the final metabolite of a microorganism without inhibiting the multiplication of the microorganism by employing a gas fed into a microorganism-culturing container as a carrier gas and subsequently transferring the atmospheric gas of the microorganism-culturing container into a column.

CONSTITUTION: Gases from a culture air-supplying device 9 for selectively supplying an oxygen-free gas or an oxygen-free gas is supplied into a microorganism- culturing container. Gases in the culturing container are separated with an analysis column 15 and the separated components are detected with a detector 17 to measure the final metabolites of bacteria while maintaining the multiplication of the bacteria without relating to the species of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria, thereby permitting to surely identify the species of the bacteria.
