An incineration system 10 comprises an incinerator 12, a secondary combustion chamber 14, the gas cooling tower 100, an air heater 16, a cooling tower 18, a bag filter 20 and a stack 22. A gas cooling tower body 102 has on a lower part a dust discharge part 110 for collecting and discharging dust in exhaust gas. The dust discharge part 110 has an exhaust gas bypass port 116 for discharging a part of the exhaust gas discharged from the gas cooling tower body 102. The exhaust gas bypass port 116 has a flow control valve 118 for controlling the flow rate of the exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust gas bypass port 116. The discharge of part of the exhaust gas from the exhaust gas bypass port 116 can maintain a temperature in the lower part of the gas cooling tower 100 to reduce dust accumulation in the lower part of the gas cooling tower and corrosion of the gas cooling tower.
