PURPOSE: To both obtain the state of thin type of a panel and perform a sure sealing of the panel, by forming the construction of exhaust into a flat plate structure and arranging the configuration of its sealing in such a manner that a flatly shaped sealing plate is press attached and fixed by using a seal material.
CONSTITUTION: Onto the inner face of a seal plate 21 for air-tightly sealing an exhaust port 17 on a glass substrate 13, a round shaped or tetragonal seal material, for instance, a glass 22 of low melting point likely for enclosing the exhaust port is previously formed by the method of print or the like. For said seal plate 21, the same glass material, for instance, as the glass substrates 13, 14 is used with its thickness slightly less than said substrate. In this way, the use of a flat plate for the exhaust construction can form the panel into a thin type, and the seal plate, being press attached and fixed by using the seal material, can accomplish a surely sealing function.
