PURPOSE: To eliminate display fluctuation by applying seal glass onto substrate glass, previously treating with heat, decomposing and removing an organic component, and providing partition walls sealed between a display portion and an exhaust hole.

CONSTITUTION: A gas electric discharge display is constituted of two glasses 21, 22, and a plurality of anode electrodes 26 and cathodes electrodes 24 all contained therein, where information can be displayed to the outside when the cathode electrodes 24 and the anode electrodes 26 are selected. The display is provided with partition walls 23 each made of seal glass between an exhaust hole 32 for gas generated at the time of heating inside a panel and a display portion.
