Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve thermal efficiency even in a configuration in which a check valve for controlling supply of fuel gas is installed in an auxiliary chamber.SOLUTION: A gas engine A includes: a main chamber 60 defined between a piston and a cylinder head 1; an auxiliary chamber 4 communicated with the main chamber 60 via nozzle holes 3; and an auxiliary chamber gas supply passage 14 for supplying fuel gas to the auxiliary chamber 4. By using a check valve 6 of which opening/closing period is determined based on a pressure difference between supply pressure of the fuel gas and cylinder pressure on the main chamber 60 side, the supply of the fuel gas to the auxiliary chamber 4 i controlled. The gas engine A further includes an optimal auxiliary chamber gas amount/ignition timing computing device 32 for calculating a combination of the auxiliary chamber gas amount and auxiliary chamber ignition timing so as to enhance thermal efficiency within a limit of the cylinder pressure. An auxiliary chamber gas supply pressure control device 30 supplies the auxiliary chamber gas amount calculated by the optimal auxiliary chamber gas amount/ignition timing computing device 32 to the auxiliary chamber, and an ignition timing control device 31 ignites an air-fuel mixture at ignition timing calculated by the optimal auxiliary chamber gas amount/ignition timing computing device 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
