Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas engine oil having a long life, excellent in heat resistance, resistance to high temperature oxidation and resistance to nitrogen oxide and further exhibiting low pollution property by using a specific ultrabasic alkaline earth metal sulfide phenate as a high base metal type cleaning agent.
SOLUTION: This gas engine oil contains a mineral oil-based lubricating oil and/or a synthetic oil-based lubricating oil used as a substrate and (A) 0.1-20 wt.% ultrabasic alkaline earth metal sulfide phenate (preferably ultrabasic calcium sulfide phenate) having 300-500 mgKOH/g based value and ≤1,000 mm2/S viscosity at 100°C and 1-20 wt.% total amount of fatty acids, (B) 1-20 wt.% bis-type high molecular weight succinic imide or its derivative and (C) 0.1-5 wt.% zinc dialkyldithiophosphate of formula I [R1 and R4 are each a 6-20C alkyl]. A compound of formula II [R3 is a polybutenyl which is an alkenyl; R4 is 2-5C bifunctional saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon; (x) is 0-10] is preferable as the compound of the component B.
