To provide a gas-filling type proportional counter tube which can sufficiently restrain aged deterioration of energy resolution and is inexpensive.
In the gas-filling type proportional counter tube wherein an insulated core wire 3 is housed in a case 1 having a window 2 for making an X ray incident and a detection gas is filled up, an absorbent 5 made of at least one selected from a group of active carbon, activated alumina, zeolite, silica gel, and calcium oxide is provided in the case 1. The gas-filling type proportional counter tube having the absorbent 5 in the case 1 as a simple structure can adsorb an impure gas emitted from an internal surface 1a of the case 1 without using conventional countermeasures. Aged deterioration of energy resolution on the gas-filling type proportional counter tube can be sufficiently restrained since the detection gas is not affected, and its cost increase can be avoided.
