To provide a gas input and output method and a gas storage facility capable of preventing a storage tank from being damaged by uniformly mixing gases so that temperature difference does not occur in the storage tank.
The gas is fed from a pipeline 1 to a receiving pipe 3. The gas is compressed by a compressor 13, cooled by a cooler 17, and charged to the upper part of the storage tank 35 by using a short pipe 23 for inlet. Also, simultaneously when the gas fed from the pipeline 1 is filled into the storage tank 35 or after the gas fed from the pipeline 1 is filled into the storage tank 35, as necessary, the gas is taken out from the lower part of the storage tank 35 to a long pipe 33 for outlet and inlet and fed to a circulation pipe 45. Then, the gas is compressed by a compressor 11, cooled by the cooler 17, and re-charged into the upper part of the storage tank 35 by using the short pipe 23 for inlet.
