PURPOSE: To obtain a combustible gas sensor composition free from malfunctioning by alcohol by firing a specified composition paste of a mixture of SnO2, one or both of NiO and lanthanum nickelate and glass.
CONSTITUTION: A paste is prepared by mixing 60W98wt% of inorganic chemical compound composition comprising 20W80wt% of SnO2, 80W20wt% of one or two of NiO and lanthanum nickelate and 40W2wt% of glass such as lead borosilicate, zinc borosilicate and alkaline silicate based glass. A heater platinum paste 4 is printed on one surface of an alumina substrate 1 while a pair of platinum electrode paste 2 and 2 are printed on the other surface thereof. After the pastes are dried and sintered, the paste as above mentioned is printed, dried and then, fired to form a gas sensor composition layer 3. Thus, a sensor suitable for detection of gas such as H2, CH4, C3H8 free from malfunctioning by alcohol can be obtained with a high sensitivity and a secular stability.
